Cequest Pty Ltd is an Australian registered company (ACN 647 014 006). Cequest's Ocean Carbon Projects are focused around Tasmania and The Great Barrier Reef with plans on expanding to the Southern Ocean, Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific.

What is Blue Carbon? What is Ocean Carbon Sequestration?

Blue carbon refers to carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere by the world's coastal ocean ecosystems, mostly mangroves, salt marshes, seagrasses and macroalgae, through plant growth and the accumulation and burial of organic matter in the soil. Historically the ocean, atmosphere, soil, and terrestrial forest ecosystems have been the largest natural carbon sinks. Recent scientific studies have discovered significant carbon sequestration capacity from Krill and their ocean food chain.

Ocean carbon sequestration or carbon dioxide removal is the long-term removal, capture or sequestration of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to slow or reverse atmospheric CO2 pollution and to mitigate or reverse global warming.
